About Me

Maria Montessori, an early childhood education pioneer and philosopher once said “Play is a Child’s Work.” I fully believe this theory. Children learn by leaps and bounds when we supply a knowledge-rich, fun, and loving environment in which the teacher provides structure, meaning and support for learning.

I have been teaching for 18 years. I graduated from UVSC (now UVU) in December of 2000 with my degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught Kindergarten, Directed a few Preschools and also worked as Head Preschool teacher. I love the age of children between 3 and 6. They are so excited about learning, they make new discoveries each day that might seem simple to us adults but amaze these little ones. I love being a part of that process.

I am a mother of three. I have a 15 year old, a 12  year old and a 9 year old. My children are the love of my life. They keep me going and make me smile every day. I have been married to my best friend for 18 years now and am so grateful for his…

Our experience with Alisha as a teacher was top rate. It was quite apparent from her sincerely positive attitude and demeanor that she truly loves her profession and has a vested interest in the early education of each and every child's life she touches. She's a remarkably loving, talented, and creative individual, and we have the utmost respect for her.
-Amy Stidham, Jacksonville, IL Having worked with Alisha for several years, I know what an amazing teacher she is! Her creativity, organization, patience, fun learning enviornment, and love of children, are just some of the things that make her so great at what she does. When I grow up I want to be just like Alisha! Dawn Taylor Teacher for 9 years and Owner of Discovery Corner Preschool, Lehi, UT
Alisha was born to teach children. She is patient, creative, and kind. This last year I did a rotating preschool with her and my daughter wanted it at Alisha's house every week because of the fun learning activities and organized env…

I believe that children learn the best through play. It is my responsibility as a teacher to provide a learning rich enviornment. I have a center based preschool, meaning that I will provide different areas in the classroom to help children explore and discover their world at their own pace and in their own intrests. Centers include: Art, Science, Math, Dramatic Play, Writing & Literacy, Gross Motor, and Blocks & Building. While the children are encouraged to explore all areas, try new things, and take turns, they can spend the majority of their time doing what they find interesting to them.

Basic overview of my school: Each week will will focus on a theme that is relevant to the children and the world around them. We will have a color of the month where one day a week we will have a wear and share day where the children can wear the color of the month and bring something into school to "show and tell" with the other children. Each week we will focus on a letter of …
